Being gluten free already creates a magnitude of problems in one’s life, however moving to college added a whole new level on to catering to allergies. Luckly for those with gluten allergies, there is a new restaurant in town that takes gluten-free recipies to the next level!
Bistro 17
This new bistro is in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa and is a beautiful mom and pop style restaurant. I’ve talked to the owner and asked him about his idea behind this amazing place. He told me that his daughter got diagnosed with Celiac disease and noticed that there are not many gluten-friendly places in Tuscaloosa. I have eaten there almost every day ever since I have heard about this establishment, and may I recommend the gluten-free fried chicken! Bistro 17 creates dishes that people like me, someone allergic to gluten, would never expect to be made to be gluten-free.
