Why did you choose to join the Honors College?

I chose to join Honors College because of the opportunities it brings to students who are a part of it. Honors college gives me access to many courses I would not have had access to if I was not a part of the college. I also believed honors college would provide me with resources for success throughout college.

What is your favorite class you have taken in the Honors College?

My favorite honors college course I have taken is UH 205. This course is about community engagement and the university’s role in giving back to the community.

What has been your favorite part of being in the Honors College?

My favorite part about being in the honors college has been meeting new people throughout my classes. Honors college classes have introduced me to people throughout campus that all come from different backgrounds/ areas and have a variety of different majors. I would have not had the opportunity to meet and engage with these students if we did not have these honors classes together.

What advice would you give to those who want to join the Honors College?

For those who are wanting to join the honors college I would recommend taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the college. Honors college has many types of events that can help you network and further your education in many ways. These are great opportunities that are not available for  everyone at the University. Additionally, honors college provides you with access to classes, both major specific and honors college specific, that not everyone has the opportunity to take.
