The University of Alabama’s Dance Marathon’s mission is to raise awareness and funds for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s of Alabama. This hospital provides financial and emotional assistance to the children being treated with various pediatric illnesses and the families of those children. UADM’s main event is a nationwide movement at over 150 schools called Dance Marathon. This event is 13.1 hours long and consists of lots of dancing, games, guest speakers, and other forms of entertainment. UADM’s mission is to “dance for those who can’t.” The whole event leads up to the revealing of the amount of money raised throughout the whole year. In the past eleven years they have been at the University of Alabama, they have raised over $2,000,000.
