The Brown House

The Brown House mission is one of proximity, community, and opportunity. The organization focuses on supporting the West Circle community in a Christian way. One main function of the organization is the “After-School-Thing.” This is a volunteer program that revolves around tutoring children after school in a multi-family housing community. College students come from several churches around the area Monday through Thursday to study, pray, and play with the community. Volunteers participate in helping children with their homework and engaging in fun activities in an inclusive environment. Additionally, there are several other ways The Brown House helps serve. These include a community library, garden, and free housing/meals for displaced parents of babies in the NICU at DCH Health System.
