Name: Kelsie Jackson

Position: Editorial Team

Hi, y’all! My name is Kelsie Jackson and I am a sophomore from Oswego, IL. I love to say I am from Chicago for both convenience and clout purposes, but alas, I am actually about an hour outside the city smack in the middle of some corn fields. I’d say the most Chicago thing about me is my love for a deep-dish pizza, which is hard to come by in Alabama.

I am a double major in English and Journalism at the university with minors in Creative Media and Computing Technology & Applications. In the future, I’d love to work in the writing or publishing industry. I’m also interested in content creation for sports and film production. Growing up, all my idols came from movies. Kat Stratford in Ten Things About You, Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries, Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, Donna from Mamma Mia, hopefully you get the picture. Sarcastic tomboy teenager who refused to settle for anything less than extraordinary: spoiler alert-it may have caused some unrealistic expectations in my life.

Outside of class, you will find me singing terrible karaoke with my roommates, taking spontaneous ballroom dancing classes, binge-watching every rom-com on Netflix, and begging to pet every dog I pass on the quad. I’ve got a beagle-boxer rescue at home named Mickey who I spoiler endlessly. On Saturdays in the fall, you’ll find me screaming along to Dixieland Delight. My goal is to one day travel the world. Some of my bucket list travel destinations include Santorini, Barcelona, Paris, Australia, New Zealand, and the Maldives.

I’m so excited to work with the Mosaic team this year and use this opportunity to learn more about the people and places of our school!
