“In April I had the opportunity to participate in a camping trip on Mount Cheaha. It was hosted by the Outdoor Adventure Club and it was a great first camping experience for me. We hiked for around four hours and I was astonished by how amazing it looked when we got to the top of the mountain. The farther we hiked the more I noticed the lack of society. Our phones didn’t work and I was away from technology for the longest period of time in my life. I think everyone should have an opportunity to do something like this because I got to reflect on myself and now I have a totally new outlook on what to appreciate in life.”
Steve is a sophomore from St. Louis, in the college of engineering.
