“During the spring semester of last year, I was part of an Honors College program that facilitated the Tuscaloosa Rocketry Challenge. In our class, we developed lesson plans to teach 6th graders in the Tuscaloosa metropolitan area about space exploration and how to create their own bottle rockets. Then, in early April, we hosted the Tuscaloosa Rocketry Challenge at The University of Alabama for the students. You don’t have to be an expert in aerospace engineering to take part in this course. It’s a valuable honors service learning experience I’d recommend to anyone.”

Alex Doble is a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colorado studying aerospace engineering.
