Name: Sierra Napoleon
Position: Editorial Team
Sierra Napoleon is a perpetually tired junior and an English major with minors in Public Relations and Creative Writing. She grew up outside Athens, Alabama, haunted by the hee-hawing of a distant donkey. Here, she engaged in such activities as: accidentally killing one of the most important characters in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, not tipping cows and hay bales, and forgetting the word sail in a game of Pictionary, thus graduating high school known to her friends as “Boat Flag.”
Now, as an adult in a larger city with plenty of things to see and do, she doesn’t go out much and spends most of the time in her room. Here, she listens to the same five songs for weeks and slaps at her keyboard, pretending to be busy. Sometimes, she writes stories and poems without getting distracted, and those are good days. The other good days are when she leaves her room to play silly trombone noises in band practice.
In between class, practice, and doing basically nothing, she keeps finding herself in on-campus magazine staffs. Currently, she’s ended up as a writer for Mosaic. She thinks it’s good practice because, one day, she wants to do editing within the literary publishing field. For now, she’s just trying not to lose the remote control to the couch’s underbelly again.
