Name: Addie Orr

Position: Design Team

Howdy! My name is Addie Orr. I am a first year News Media and Creative Writing student, essentially meaning, I spend most of my time at a keyboard, typing the days away, which is why I joined the Mosaic design team- to give me a small break. When not writing for class, I can be found at Starbucks, playing games of Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, or making a craft of some sort. I am pretty crafty, crocheting and selling sweaters and large plushies, embroidering funny sayings and Tik Tok quotes, drawing mediocrely well, and hand sewing whatever fabric I can get my hands on.

While making crafts, I love to listen to podcasts, notably The Adventure Zone, Critical Role, Sawbones, and My Brother, My Brother, and Me. I also listen to a wide range of artists on Spotify, with the popularity ranging from Taylor Swift to artists who get 1,000 streams a month. On the off chance I can sit down and watch a tv show or movie, I usually will pick up a Marvel movie, or re-watch The Witcher or The Great British Bake-Off  for the millionth time.

Originally from this Dallas-ish area, I grew up in the suburbs, where I enjoyed the many wonders of Texas, including Buc-ees, Whataburger, and my personal favorite, Tex-Mex. I have two brothers, one studying Music Education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas (it’s okay if you don’t know where that is), and one a sophomore in high school. When all in the house, we live with our parents and pet shrimp named Lucky. Yes, you read that right. A pet shrimp. He swims in circles in his little sphere and we love him very much.

Additionally, I am a Campus Ambassador for GLAAD, one of the largest organizations for LGBTQ+ advocacy in the world. I educate and advocate for equality for my fellow members of the LGBTQ+ community both on campus and in the world, both of which I am extremely passionate about.
