Spectrum is a student group at UA for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual, and queer(+) students and their allies. Founded in 1983, the purpose of Spectrum is to provide a supportive community environment for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies at the University of Alabama. Spectrum’s mission is to foster understanding and education within the university and surrounding communities of LGBTQIA+ individuals and preventing discrimination against them.
