What was the best part about honors college?

“The ability to build real relationships with the professors. Outside of my major, the only classes I got to develop a personal relationship with the professors were honors college classes.”

Did you feel like you were provided the opportunity to be a part of a community in the honors college?

“Sort of, it depended more on the class than anything. Some classes, where collaboration was required, really fostered relationships among students and therefore built a relationship.”

What is one thing you would say to a freshman going into the honors college?

“Make sure to double down on requirements. Don’t take a UH course that doesn’t give you another requirement you need to graduate.”

What was your favorite UH Course?

“I really appreciated service leadership with Courtney Thomas. The discussions in that class helped me build friendships with some other students and the coursework allowed for a lot of self-reflection.”
