Name: Emily Sheridan

Position: Editorial Team

Hey! My name is Emily Sheridan, and I am a senior at the University of Alabama majoring in psychology and minoring in biology. My hope is to get into graduate school to become a physician assistant. This past summer, I worked as a medical assistant for Peachtree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Atlanta, Ga, to begin getting my patient care experience hours. My plan is to take a gap year after completing my undergraduate degree to continue getting patient care experience hours before applying to physician assistant school.

I am from Macon, Georgia, so many people ask why I didn’t attend the University of Georgia. I went against all odds and against my family’s better judgment (my sister went to UGA) and decided to attend the University of Alabama. I wanted to branch out and go to an out-of-state school while maintaining the fun SEC atmosphere. I am so happy I chose to come to Alabama, as I have had so much fun throughout my time here! I am a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma as well as the honors college. I also serve as the director of events for Kappa Kappa Gamma, so I plan all of our social events like date parties and homecoming and greek week.

My favorite thing to do in my free time is hanging out with my friends and enjoying good food with them. My favorite two restaurants to go to in Tuscaloosa are Chucks Fish and River. I live with four roommates here in Tuscaloosa, and they have made me into a huge movie-watcher. Every Sunday, we go through a massive list of movies and choose one to watch. I also love to ride horses, as my family has horses at home. I actually grew up showing horses competitively, but stopped when I got to high school.

Although my major has nothing to do with Mosaic Magazine, I am super excited to be in this class! I serve as a writer for Mosaic. I am looking forward to writing and reading the many stories we come up with to share with everyone. I think this will be a great semester!
